Travel guide
Newark Liberty International (EWR) is closest to MetLife Stadium by a wide margin — the stadium is 6 miles from the airport. JFK and LaGuardia add 60–90 minutes of transit. From Manhattan, NJ Transit's Meadowlands Rail from Secaucus Junction runs on match days and deposits you at the stadium entrance.
Stay in Manhattan for the tournament experience — Midtown West, Hell's Kitchen, or the Flatiron District for walkability. New Jersey stays in Jersey City or Hoboken are the cheaper, more chill option and give you PATH train access to everything. The East Village is the nightlife base if you want to commit to the New York thing.
Watch parties for the Final spill across every bar from the Lower East Side to Times Square. Local signature: there is no one NYC food — but grab pizza at L'industrie, a bagel from Russ & Daughters, and a late-night slice from Joe's before the tournament ends. Local quirk: New Yorkers will tell you "I grew up there" about every borough; MetLife is technically in New Jersey and every New Yorker will remind you.
Climate notes
New York/New Jersey's June and July are humid and warm — highs in the mid-80s°F with 70-80% humidity. Thunderstorms are common but usually move through quickly. MetLife is open-air, so expect potential rain-delayed kickoffs on match days with active storm fronts.
