World Cup 2026 Group C: Brazil · Morocco · Haiti · Scotland
Brazil vs Morocco — the 2022 semifinalist makes this a proper Group of Death.
Group Analysis
Group C is the draw that turns Brazil's sixth-star dream into a tightrope from matchday one. Morocco — the Atlas Lions who shocked Portugal and Spain on the way to fourth place in Qatar — arrive as a seeded-level opponent wearing Pot 3 colors. Walid Regragui's 4-3-3 built on Achraf Hakimi's flank and a compact midfield has not lost a competitive match to a South American side in eighteen months. Brazil will start as favorites but they can no longer assume the room.
Scotland return to a World Cup for the first time since 1998, under a manager who has revived the Tartan Army's pressing identity. They will be physically hard to break down, with Andrew Robertson and John McGinn setting the tempo. Their record in must-win group finales is mixed, but a Brazilian side that takes them lightly is precisely the kind of opponent they beat.
Haiti are the sentimental story of the group. Returning to a World Cup after 52 years, the Caribbean side qualified through a CONCACAF playoff with a squad full of MLS and European second-tier talent. They will not be a tactical fit for either the Brazilian press or the Moroccan transition game, but they will play with the freedom of a side that has nothing to lose — and that can be dangerous on matchday one.
