How the World Cup Predictor Works
Bracket 2026 is a free World Cup predictor — rank the 12 groups, pick your champion, save locally, and share a link with friends. No account required.
1. Rank every group
For each of 12 groups, rank teams from 1st through 4th place. The top 2 of each group qualify automatically; under the new 48-team format, the 8 best third-placed teams join them to fill out the Round of 32.
2. Pick your champion
After ranking all 12 groups, pick your champion from any team. The notes below explain Annex C, while this tool focuses on your group rankings and champion pick.
3. Save and share
Your bracket saves locally in your browser. Click Share to generate a unique link you can send via WhatsApp, X, Discord, or email — friends open the link and can copy your picks to make their own.

The 48-Team Knockout Bracket
The 48-team format adds a brand-new Round of 32 before the knockout stage you know from previous World Cups. After the group stage, 32 teams advance — the top 2 from each of 12 groups, plus the 8 best third-placed teams ranked by points, goal difference, goals scored, fair play score, and FIFA ranking.
From R32, the bracket follows the standard single-elimination structure: Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Final. The pairings follow FIFA Annex C rules, which fix specific group-position matchups in advance (for example, the winner of Group A plays the runner-up of Group B in R32). Use these format notes to reason about how your group rankings shape the knockout path.
The champion will play 8 matches total: 3 in the group stage and 5 knockout matches from the Round of 32 through the Final. The Final is held July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Predictor FAQ
Can I simulate the FIFA World Cup 2026?+
Yes — you can shape your prediction of the tournament before it kicks off on June 11, 2026. Rank each of the 12 groups (including third-place candidates), pick your champion from any team, save locally, and share a link with friends.
How does the World Cup 2026 predictor work?+
Two steps. (1) Rank each of the 12 groups from 1st through 4th place. (2) Pick your champion. Your bracket saves locally in your browser; you can come back later or share via a link. The notes on the page explain how Annex C governs the knockout pairings.
What does Smart Predict use?+
Smart Predict ranks each group by current FIFA World Ranking — the official ranking available for every qualified team. It is a one-click baseline you can override on any team. The tool does not blend multiple data sources or weight scores; FIFA Ranking is the single signal.
What is the FIFA World Cup 2026 format?+
The 2026 tournament expands to 48 teams across the United States, Canada, and Mexico — 16 more than in 2022. Teams are split into 12 groups of 4. After group play, 32 teams advance: the top two from every group plus the eight best third-placed teams, ranked by points, goal difference, goals scored, fair play score, and FIFA ranking. From there the bracket runs through a brand-new Round of 32, then Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, third-place playoff, and final — 104 matches between June 11 and July 19, 2026.
Is the World Cup predictor free?+
Yes, 100% free. No signup, no login, no paywall. Your bracket saves locally in your browser.
Does it work on mobile?+
Yes. The predictor is mobile-first — tap to rank groups and pick a champion, no drag-and-drop required. Works on iOS, Android, and any desktop browser.
Can I use this for an office pool or bracket challenge?+
Yes. Build your bracket, click Share, and send the link to coworkers. Each person can open the link and make their own picks. See the Challenge page for scoring templates.
Will you show live match results during the World Cup?+
The predictor is a pre-tournament prediction tool. For live results and data-driven forecasts, see the Predictions page.
Can I predict exact scores?+
The interactive predictor picks winners, not scores. For quiniela / bolão pools that require exact scores, use the printable version and write scores next to each match.
